8: No One Asked for this But Here You Go Anyways (Recommendations, part two)

Hello dear Reader. Yes, again, recommendations. But this time, it’s for my fellow bibliophiles.

So here is a list of books I highly recommend. If you want to find more books, look on Goodreads, a bookstore, or your library.

The list:

  • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

  • How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasglow

  • The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta

  • The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan

  • I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

  • Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi

  • The Beauty That Remains by Ashley Woodfolk

  • Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen

  • We Set The Dark on Fire by Tehlor May Meija

  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (I recommend the movie as well)

  • Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone

  • It Looks Like This by Rafi Mittlefehlt

  • Looking for Alaska by John Green

  • The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert (apparently there’s a sequel which I have to read)

  • Wilder Girls by Rory Power

  • Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

  • The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner

  • The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins (although I’m sure most people have already read the book or watched the movies; apparently there’s a prequel out?? I also have to find it sometime)

  • The 5th Wave Series by Rick Yancey

  • An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

  • All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

  • Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

  • Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

  • Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (you might’ve read it during high school though; I read it freshman year but it’s a pretty good book)

  • Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (or Love, Simon)

  • The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

  • The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger (again, you might’ve read it during high school; also, again, I read it during freshman year)

  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (you know what, any novel by him I recommend)

If you are uncomfortable or triggered by anything related to mental health/illness, death or suicide, rape, or homophobia these things are mentioned in different books, just so you know and are aware dear Reader.

If you want, you can add more book recommendations in the comments. That would be nice to look through what your reading interests are.

Anyways, enjoy the rest of today and make sure you drink some water.

    Until next time, dear Reader.

Signing off,

Mother and Eliot
