10: Week 10

Salvete, dear Reader. I hope your Sunday is going well. Mine is okay. Mother and I went out to Bath and Body Works earlier and before that, she made some Filipino Curry Vermicelli Noodle Soup - she just made it today - for lunch. I would rate it a 9/10, it could have been spicier. But it was very good.       Did anyone go out for Black Friday? We did and we brought Grandpa with us. He’s my grandpa, I should clarify. Anyways, we only went to Best Buy and Target. He got a Fire Stick for his TV streaming and neither of us got anything. We got lunch at In n Out (we ate in the car, we didn’t sit outside) where someone dinged Mother’s car. “I can be a Karen when it comes to my car,” she said. She also said more things about cars that I don’t really remember but oh well.      At Target, I bought a special edition of Skool Luv Affair by BTS, Chromatica by Lady Gaga, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke. We watched Howl’s Moving Castle yesterday a...

9: It's Cold but the Pain of Banana Fish is Colder

Salvete, dear Reader. I hope you’re doing well. For anyone else who’s in school, are yall on Thanksgiving Break now? I start my break tomorrow. I’ve been waking up at 12 this entire weekend for some reason. But it’s fine because my psychology teacher would say I deserve it. She’s always saying we need to take time for ourselves, that we deserve to relax and take a break now and then and that applies to you as well. Take this time off to do things for yourself. Watch your favorite movie, start a new series, read some books, draw, paint, do what you love. Or try something new maybe, like meditation or a dish you’ve wanted to try for some time now. Off topic and not at all related to anything, but salvete is hello in Latin. I’m pretty sure it’s the plural version, whereas salve is the singular version.       Mother and I just got Chipotle; she got the brisket bowl, my dad got the steak bowl, and I got the tacos. I also drew Monokuma from Danganronpa ...

8: No One Asked for this But Here You Go Anyways (Recommendations, part two)

Hello dear Reader. Yes, again, recommendations. But this time, it’s for my fellow bibliophiles. So here is a list of books I highly recommend. If you want to find more books, look on Goodreads, a bookstore, or your library.  The list: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasglow The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi The Beauty That Remains by Ashley Woodfolk Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen We Set The Dark on Fire by Tehlor May Meija The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (I recommend the movie as well) Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone It Looks Like This by Rafi Mittlefehlt Looking for Alaska by John Green The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert (apparently there’s a sequel which I have to read) Wilder Girls by Rory Power Ready Player One by Ernest Cline The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner The Hunger Games ...

7: It's Freezing Cold but Goals are a Good Way to keep Yourself Orientated

Hello dear Reader. I hope everything is well for you and everyone you know & care about is healthy. I had a family member test positive for COVID a while back with mild symptoms so he’s doing okay now.       Anyways, I’ve been so cold lately. Every time I’m sitting at my desk in class, I’m freezing. Apparently our heater is off and even if it was on, it doesn’t go over in that room properly, for some reason or another. Not to mention, my feet get cold this time of year. Possibly my hands as well. You know what, my entire body is just cold if I’m not wearing enough layers. The only time I’m warm is when I’m dancing, doing Zumba, or laying down in bed.       Off topic, but does anyone else sleep with many pillows and stuffed animals? I sleep with 7 pillows (4 regular pillows, my Magicians pillow, a hotdog pillow, and a fuzzy blue round pillow). My bed is in the corner, up against the wall. So I’m able to have many stuffed animals on the l...

6: No One asked for this But Here You Go Anyways (Recommendations)

Ever since quarantine started, everyone’s been watching a plethora of movies and shows. So here’s a list of some movies, shows, and anime I recommend. Even though we’re still in the fall semester. Please do your homework and everything first before you watch something. I think this goes without saying but no spoilers for anyone. Spoilers ruin everything and make it not fun.       Movies:  The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society  Beetlejuice The Nightmare Before Christmas  Enola Holmes  TV Shows: The Magicians (didn’t watch over quarantine but it’s my favorite tv show) Once Upon A Time  The Queen’s Gambit (currently watching this w/ Mother) Next In Fashion  American Horror Story RuPaul’s Drag Race  Anime: I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (similar to YLIA so have some tissues ready) Bungou Stray Dogs  Parasyte: The Maxim (very underrated sadly; the opening slaps) Death Note Given (Mafuyu is my son and...
