2: Spooky Season is Here, and Apple Cider is Really Good

It is now October and you know what that means: Halloween, spooky season, ghosts, pumpkins, hot chocolate, apple cider, scary movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas, skeletons, and a plethora of other spooky things. And don’t forget the scents. Lotions, body washes, soaps, candles, etc. I got a sweet cinnamon pumpkin lotion from Bath and Body Works - 10/10 - last fall and it’s amazing.

I love layering. I love layering my black turtleneck, different shirts, tights with shorts, skirts, or jeans, layering shirts or sweaters with dresses; even jewelry. Fall is literally the perfect time for that but nope not this year. Actually it doesn’t even get that cold until around November in general. I went out yesterday in green cargo pants, my turtleneck, a YUNGBLUD shirt on top of that, combat boots, and my mask and it was hot when my mom and I were done shopping. And it’s hot at night too. After I’m done with my skincare stuff and putting on my diffuser and getting into bed, it gets hot??? Like I will be wearing an oversized shirt and shorts and I’m sweating. Why?? What’s up with that? I do have a fan but it’s in another room behind a couch and I’m not carrying it back and forth between my room and the other room where it is. No thank you.

Speaking of movies, my mom and I tried watching Poltergeist the other night. I had to pause it and watch another movie because I got scared (we were 23 minutes into the movie). I do like some scary movies; The Conjuring isn’t too bad. I did watch The Babadook a while ago and I had to cover my eyes for maybe a little bit more than half the movie. But others I don’t know if I can handle. Even some trailers are just too much for me. Anyways, watching movies by yourself can sometimes be lonely (or fun, it goes both ways) so if you’re wanting to watch some with others, I’m sure there are websites where you can link up Netflix or whatever you use to watch movies with others.

With Spooky Season comes along Halloween and Halloween decorations and costumes/accessories. As previously aforementioned, my mom and I went out yesterday. We were originally going to the library first then to Walmart but the library curbside pickup was closed so I couldn’t get the books but my mom got the email saying the books were ready to be picked up. A tragedy, I was really looking forward to reading them. Oh well. And so we just went to Walmart. I asked if we could look at the Halloween stuff and I got: a new pair of fishnets, black suspenders, and a choker with a pumpkin on it that came with a pair of dangly pumpkin earrings. Halloween stores/aisles are great for stuff like that.

Fall activities are so much fun as well. Pumpkin carving/making Jack O Lantern’s, going to pumpkin patches, watching fall themed/scary movies with friends, family, or by yourself, making fall themed snacks and drinks, stepping on leaves and hearing that crunch, trick or treating. If you’re going to do any of these or other fall activities, make sure to social distance, wear a mask, wash your hands thoroughly, and have adult supervision if necessary. Obviously it depends on the activity, but still.

Alright have fun now that it’s fall and remember to take care of yourself. Until next time, dear Reader.

Signing off,

Mother and Eliot

20: Week 20

Hello dear Reader, yes I realize I didn’t post last week. I’ll try to do it next Sunday, but we’ll see when I actually write it. I apologize again.       Make sure you drink enough water, that you eat three meals today, and that you take your vitamins or medication(s) if necessary. I hope your day is good and relaxing. I’m just going to add in a poem today; I’ll probably write something else next weekend. Anyways, enjoy the poem! And if you have any constructive criticism for me, I’ll gladly take it; any chance to improve my writing. Also, please tell me if my dialogue seems “robotic” or something; I think I need to work on it.        “Sterling! Now!”       Sterling was in the middle of a battle, his friends on either side of him about to be demolished by his enemies. Of course, they weren’t expecting an ambush. They had just fought a few days ago and left the enemies with severe injuries. They shouldn’...

21: Week 21

Hello dear Reader, I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts. I didn’t post around the end of May due to my finals and wanting to focus on school and on keeping my grades up. I may have lost track of time ever since summer started but I’m back to posting weekly. I hope everyone’s summer has been good so far. Make sure to wear your mask if you aren’t vaccinated and if you’re in a public area where it’s required. What has everyone been doing so far? I haven’t done much. One of my best friends and I had our first sleepover; a friend came over on Friday so we went swimming; I’ve been world building for a new story - more on that later - and Mother and I are going thrifting on Tuesday. I also planted some new plants for myself. Not to mention dance stuff is going on, so there’s that.  Now, on to my new story. In the spring semester of this school year, I had creative writing. During the class, we had workshops, where we would write a short story - around four pages - and read it out l...
