14: Week 14

Hello dear Reader, I apologize for not posting lately. I lost all sense of time during winter break, then we started the new semester and I’ve been busy with my assignments.

I hope this month has been better for you than last year. That was just a mess, but so far, this year seems to be at least a little bit better. In any case, let’s hope we get the vaccine soon and are able to end quarantine. Until then, keep social distancing, wearing your mask if/when you go outside, and washing your hands.

What has everyone been up to? How was your New Years celebration? Mine was good. We live in one of those houses with an apartment connected to it, which is where my grandpa lives, and he came downstairs for dinner. We had hot pot for dinner and it was really good. Mother made the broth in our instant pot and we just added noodles, meat, vegetables and consumable things to the broth. I found that I really like lamb, even though I’ve had lamb before and liked it.

For students who went back to class, I hope you like your classes and your teachers. I certainly do. I have creative writing, AP Language, leisure sports, and advanced dance in that order. So I have the same teacher for my first two classes and then I get to workout everyday. Fun. It’s not that I mind having the same teacher twice in a row, I don’t mind it. I’m just questioning why I was given two classes where I have to get up and workout in a row. Shoutout to whoever at my school made my schedule I guess.

I haven’t done anything exciting lately. I did start watching My Hero Academia and it’s good so far. Oh! I’m watching season five of The Magicians and let me tell y'all, I am excited! I love this show so much, it’s my favorite. I could go on and on and on about it for hours. Funny story, this one time I was at a friend’s house and I don’t know if she said something or if I saw something but something happened that reminded me of a scene in The Magicians and I went off and talked about how it reminded me of the scene and how it was related to another episode. I forgot exactly what I said but I’m sure it was something along the lines of, “I’m not that obsessed.” And she goes, “Sure you aren’t.”

The way I found out I was in love with the show was in freshman year in my English Honors class. Shoutout to my teacher who made me realize it. We had to do a get-to-know-you type thing like teachers usually do. It was a bingo and we had to add things we liked, our interests and hobbies, and anything else we wanted. So I added the show and she was making her way around the classroom and talking to students. When she came to me she asked about it, I sort of went off on a small tangent about it. She said something similar to, “I’ve never heard someone talk that way about something!”

Mother and I watched Crash Landing On You recently as well. My aunt said we would cry at the end and I almost did, I’m not sure about Mother. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s about a South Korean woman who lands in North Korean by accident when testing out a new product for her business. I highly recommend it.

Anyways, enjoy your time off tomorrow and have fun.

    Until next time, dear Reader.

Signing off,

Mother and Eliot

20: Week 20

Hello dear Reader, yes I realize I didn’t post last week. I’ll try to do it next Sunday, but we’ll see when I actually write it. I apologize again.       Make sure you drink enough water, that you eat three meals today, and that you take your vitamins or medication(s) if necessary. I hope your day is good and relaxing. I’m just going to add in a poem today; I’ll probably write something else next weekend. Anyways, enjoy the poem! And if you have any constructive criticism for me, I’ll gladly take it; any chance to improve my writing. Also, please tell me if my dialogue seems “robotic” or something; I think I need to work on it.        “Sterling! Now!”       Sterling was in the middle of a battle, his friends on either side of him about to be demolished by his enemies. Of course, they weren’t expecting an ambush. They had just fought a few days ago and left the enemies with severe injuries. They shouldn’...

21: Week 21

Hello dear Reader, I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts. I didn’t post around the end of May due to my finals and wanting to focus on school and on keeping my grades up. I may have lost track of time ever since summer started but I’m back to posting weekly. I hope everyone’s summer has been good so far. Make sure to wear your mask if you aren’t vaccinated and if you’re in a public area where it’s required. What has everyone been doing so far? I haven’t done much. One of my best friends and I had our first sleepover; a friend came over on Friday so we went swimming; I’ve been world building for a new story - more on that later - and Mother and I are going thrifting on Tuesday. I also planted some new plants for myself. Not to mention dance stuff is going on, so there’s that.  Now, on to my new story. In the spring semester of this school year, I had creative writing. During the class, we had workshops, where we would write a short story - around four pages - and read it out l...
