17: Week 17

Salve, reader Reader. I hope your weekend was good for you. Happy Black History Month everyone! Make sure to celebrate Black artists and content creators, as well as small businesses. I apologize for not posting last weekend, I was procrastinating doing this by going on Reels almost the whole time.

I’m honestly so ready for the vaccinations to be out, I’m tired of staying at home all the time and dancing at home. I’m used to dancing in studio and dancing on carpet - especially when doing turns - isn’t fun. At all. I do dance at an academy and at my school and each year for both places, we do a dance show/recital to perform dances we learned. At my school, we learn all sorts of styles, such as hip hop, jazz, musical theater, and more. Before schools closed on March 16th, I told all my friends to come and see me in the dance show at our school. Guess who never got to perform their dances with their classmates. Our recital for the academy was different as well. The crowd was only of the parents for the students on stage and some staff members. I haven’t been in front of a large audience since freshman year. We do the recital in summer and the dance show is performed at the end of the semester, so there’s two dance shows in one school year. I hate speaking in front of a classroom but dancing on stage? I live for it. I adore it. I love being in front of a crowd with those big stage lights, moving through the air, moving gracefully, elegantly, hearing the applause at the end of a dance. I just want to be on stage again.

And I haven’t seen my friends for eleven months. One of my friends came over for a few weeks last year but that was it. I’ve been going on calls more recently with one of my best friends.

Moving on, Mother and I watched Demon Slayer recently. It’s really good and I love the art/animation style. My favorite character is Zenitsu and Mother likes Tanjiro. Nezuko is also really cool, as is Inosuke. If you’ve seen it, who’s your favorite? We’ve also been watching some kdramas lately. We first watched Crash Landing On You, then we recently finished My Holo Love, and now we’re currently watching The Uncanny Counter. All of these shows are extremely good. The acting, the writing, the plot, the characters, everything is so good.

CLOY is about a South Korean woman who tests out a new product for her business. While testing it out, she ends up in North Korean by accident and an officer in the army takes her in to hide her. While that’s happening, the rest of her siblings are fighting over who’s going to take over her dad’s business while pretending to be worried about her. MHL is about a woman who’s coworkers believe she’s rude, due to a condition she has. She ends up with a special pair of eyeglasses and she learns to come out of her shell after befriending someone. TUC is about a boy who joins a group of people who call themselves the Grim Reaper(s) after something enters him. He finds out something from his past while fighting evil spirits and taking care of his grandparents.

So if you’re looking for something new to watch, I recommend those shows right there. I’ll make sure to properly update next weekend, instead of procrastinating.

Alright, make sure you drink water and eat food, as well as take any medications if necessary.

    Until next time dear Reader.

Signing off,

Mother and Eliot

20: Week 20

Hello dear Reader, yes I realize I didn’t post last week. I’ll try to do it next Sunday, but we’ll see when I actually write it. I apologize again.       Make sure you drink enough water, that you eat three meals today, and that you take your vitamins or medication(s) if necessary. I hope your day is good and relaxing. I’m just going to add in a poem today; I’ll probably write something else next weekend. Anyways, enjoy the poem! And if you have any constructive criticism for me, I’ll gladly take it; any chance to improve my writing. Also, please tell me if my dialogue seems “robotic” or something; I think I need to work on it.        “Sterling! Now!”       Sterling was in the middle of a battle, his friends on either side of him about to be demolished by his enemies. Of course, they weren’t expecting an ambush. They had just fought a few days ago and left the enemies with severe injuries. They shouldn’...

21: Week 21

Hello dear Reader, I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts. I didn’t post around the end of May due to my finals and wanting to focus on school and on keeping my grades up. I may have lost track of time ever since summer started but I’m back to posting weekly. I hope everyone’s summer has been good so far. Make sure to wear your mask if you aren’t vaccinated and if you’re in a public area where it’s required. What has everyone been doing so far? I haven’t done much. One of my best friends and I had our first sleepover; a friend came over on Friday so we went swimming; I’ve been world building for a new story - more on that later - and Mother and I are going thrifting on Tuesday. I also planted some new plants for myself. Not to mention dance stuff is going on, so there’s that.  Now, on to my new story. In the spring semester of this school year, I had creative writing. During the class, we had workshops, where we would write a short story - around four pages - and read it out l...
