24: Week 24

Hello Dear Reader, I sincerely apologize for not posting for a few weeks. Mother and I’ve been busy with many many things; we haven’t had the time to sit down. I hope your weeks have been wonderful. Remember to drink water, to take your medication(s) if necessary, get some sunlight at least for a few minutes. Or maybe open a window if possible, considering all the smoke might be bad.

Like I said, we’ve been busy. We have Mother’s side of the family coming to visit on Wednesday the 11th, so I’ve been helping her clean the house for them. I have to clean my room as well, not to mention getting ready for school. I already have most of my materials needed, I recently got a few more notebooks. So we’ve been dealing with that. I still need a place to put my belts cause I used to hang them on the end of my clothing rack but I moved something else on there; they’re just on the floor right now, but out of the way.

I signed up for an AP class for school and we had to read The Metamorphosis for it. It wasn’t a bad novella actually, I thought it was interesting. We’ve been doing a class discussion on it, answering questions within the groups we’re in. I really like all my classes so far. I currently have three writing classes, AP Lit, intro to poetry (even though I’ve been writing it for a while now), and journalism.

Anyways, we’ve been having fun with our family. On Sunday the 15th, we went to Yosemite which was fun. We tried a hike but then my aunt and I got heat sickness so we couldn’t finish it at all. We all got some nice pictures though. My mom took my cousin and I somewhere and we just walked around, got some boba, looked at some stores. I got a new ring, it’s drama masks and it’s silver. It’s very shiny and it basically made me broke but it was worth the money. It was on sale too, for $21. I had that much but had to pay with quarters too, because of taxes.

My cousin also got a switch. We played Smash Bros on it when it was on and he beat me every time. Overall, we’ve been having lots of fun with them.

I might go back to updating every other week instead of every week, considering I’m trying to focus on school and other things at the moment. But I’ll try my best to continue posting on Sundays.

Alright, make sure to drink some water and to get enough sleep.

    Until next time dear Reader.

Signing off,

Mother and Eliot

20: Week 20

Hello dear Reader, yes I realize I didn’t post last week. I’ll try to do it next Sunday, but we’ll see when I actually write it. I apologize again.       Make sure you drink enough water, that you eat three meals today, and that you take your vitamins or medication(s) if necessary. I hope your day is good and relaxing. I’m just going to add in a poem today; I’ll probably write something else next weekend. Anyways, enjoy the poem! And if you have any constructive criticism for me, I’ll gladly take it; any chance to improve my writing. Also, please tell me if my dialogue seems “robotic” or something; I think I need to work on it.        “Sterling! Now!”       Sterling was in the middle of a battle, his friends on either side of him about to be demolished by his enemies. Of course, they weren’t expecting an ambush. They had just fought a few days ago and left the enemies with severe injuries. They shouldn’...

8: No One Asked for this But Here You Go Anyways (Recommendations, part two)

Hello dear Reader. Yes, again, recommendations. But this time, it’s for my fellow bibliophiles. So here is a list of books I highly recommend. If you want to find more books, look on Goodreads, a bookstore, or your library.  The list: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasglow The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. 21: Week 21

Hello dear Reader, I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts. I didn’t post around the end of May due to my finals and wanting to focus on school and on keeping my grades up. I may have lost track of time ever since summer started but I’m back to posting weekly. I hope everyone’s summer has been good so far. Make sure to wear your mask if you aren’t vaccinated and if you’re in a public area where it’s required. What has everyone been doing so far? I haven’t done much. One of my best friends and I had our first sleepover; a friend came over on Friday so we went swimming; I’ve been world building for a new story - more on that later - and Mother and I are going thrifting on Tuesday. I also planted some new plants for myself. Not to mention dance stuff is going on, so there’s that.  Now, on to my new story. In the spring semester of this school year, I had creative writing. During the class, we had workshops, where we would write a short story - around four pages - and read it out l...
