17: Week 17

Salve, reader Reader. I hope your weekend was good for you. Happy Black History Month everyone! Make sure to celebrate Black artists and content creators, as well as small businesses. I apologize for not posting last weekend, I was procrastinating doing this by going on Reels almost the whole time.       I’m honestly so ready for the vaccinations to be out, I’m tired of staying at home all the time and dancing at home. I’m used to dancing in studio and dancing on carpet - especially when doing turns - isn’t fun. At all. I do dance at an academy and at my school and each year for both places, we do a dance show/recital to perform dances we learned. At my school, we learn all sorts of styles, such as hip hop, jazz, musical theater, and more. Before schools closed on March 16th, I told all my friends to come and see me in the dance show at our school. Guess who never got to perform their dances with their classmates. Our recital for the academy was d...

16: Week 16

Hello dear Reader, I hope your week was good, that you and your loved ones are staying safe. Drink some water if you haven’t already, don’t forget to eat, and take your medication if necessary.      What have y’all been up to lately? I haven’t been up to much. I cleaned my bathroom, vacuumed, made a charcuterie board with Korean fire carbonara noodles, iced tea, some strawberry Pocky sticks, and milk chocolate macadamia nuts yesterday. I’ve been working on an assignment for my creative writing class so I finished that. I did make a monthly savings page in my journal last night so I know what I have at the end of each month.       Mother said she would make a crochet froggy hat so I’m waiting until tomorrow when we go to Walmart. It’s not just for the green yarn and whatnot, we need other stuff and I need more essential oils since I’ve used up all the ones I own. I might get lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree, peppermint, and I’m not sur...

15: Week 15

Hello dear Reader, I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. Also, there are spoilers for the ending of season of The Magicians! Just a heads up in case you’re watching it or plan on it.       So how was everyone’s week? Mine was okay, nothing was different. Mother and I started Demon Slayer today, which is really good so far. Nothing else has been happening lately.       I started watching the last season of The Magicians and I have to finish the last episode but I don’t want it to end. I remember watching the first season a few years ago and having to wait for December because Netflix added the new season in December. I was so heartbroken when Q died; watching the group sing Take On Me for him was devastating. My parents watched it last year in the summer and I just rewatched it with them.      Mother has been watching quite a few cooking shows lately and I’ve been rewatching RuPaul’s Drag Race seas...

14: Week 14

Hello dear Reader, I apologize for not posting lately. I lost all sense of time during winter break, then we started the new semester and I’ve been busy with my assignments.       I hope this month has been better for you than last year. That was just a mess, but so far, this year seems to be at least a little bit better. In any case, let’s hope we get the vaccine soon and are able to end quarantine. Until then, keep social distancing, wearing your mask if/when you go outside, and washing your hands.       What has everyone been up to? How was your New Years celebration? Mine was good. We live in one of those houses with an apartment connected to it, which is where my grandpa lives, and he came downstairs for dinner. We had hot pot for dinner and it was really good. Mother made the broth in our instant pot and we just added noodles, meat, vegetables and consumable things to the broth. I found that I really like lamb, eve...

13: Week 13

Hello Reader. I apologize for not posting last weekend, I had finals week and I was focused on getting them done. I hope your week was good. I hope your Christmas was good, if you celebrate. If not, I hope your day was good. Here’s more of my writing even though no one asked for it. Also, if anyone has any constructive criticism for my writing from two weeks ago, I’ll take it.       A polished oak door opened, letting in two people to the penthouse. The first person, a man, sighed because he knew the dinner party tonight was an utter failure, no thanks to the woman, behind him. He wandered off into the kitchen for a glass of whiskey after dropping his outer coat on the nice thick carpet, then moved into his study. He desperately needed it after the mess she’d made. And to think, she did it right in front of important people! The kind of people who would affect his business and his career. And he knew others would most definitely talk to the...

12: Week 12

Salve dear Reader. I hope everything is well for you and your loved ones. Nothing exciting really happened for me this week, besides focusing on getting all of my work turned in so this semester can end. I love my classes so I’m kind of bummed out this semester is ending but at the same time, I’m excited for my new ones. I have a P.E. class, - I failed the fitness test freshman year but passed the class I took that year - advanced dance, AP Lang, and a creative writing class. Not in that order though.      Anyways, I figured you could read some of my writing considering I said earlier I would do that. So enjoy! Constructive criticism is accepted.  Click. Click. Click. The only sound was from the mouse, no one else in the building. Atticus was the only one left in the dentist’s office, staying for after hours until closing time. It was only his second time but he didn’t necessarily mind staying back. After all, he wasn’t going to do anything beside...

11: Week 11

Hello dear Reader. I hope you are doing well and that everyone you care about is safe and healthy. Instead of writing about my week as usual, I want to focus on mental health today. Mental health is very important and you should remember to take care of yourselves. My psychology teacher likes to say, “If we don’t take care of ourselves, who will?” Shoutout to her, she’s cool. Plus she likes The Lord of The Rings.       If you aren’t feeling well mentally, take a break. Get some rest, go outside in your back or front yard. If you live in an apartment but have a balcony, go on your balcony. Drink some water. It doesn’t have to be a lot but at least one cup will be good. Get some sleep if you need it. Yes getting your work done it good but it’s better to take a break now rather than get everything done while feeling horrible. Do some exercise, it doesn’t have to be anything heavy either. It can be yoga or just stretching. Eat some fruit and ve...
